The main idea of the project was to transform the unused space on the lower ground floor of the hotel into a dynamic and attractive place for everyone to have fun. So far, many indoor entertainment spaces have been designed especially in shopping malls, but each one has only one target age group. The facilities of the Fun Centre and Sports Bar are suitable and attractive for all ages (children, teenagers and adults), including: arcade games and GT simulator, bowling, PlayStation room, karaoke room, sports bar for watching sport events and coffee shop.
Due to parking ramp of the upper floor the ceiling height of this was low in some places, therefore the zones were arranged in such a way that the low ceiling is hidden in the coffee shop and service space, and an effort was also made to cover the heterogeneity of the space by placing the walls in such order that the space appears uniform to the viewer. As mentioned, this complex is located on the lower ground floor, so the mechanicals installations and pipes had passed over the ceiling that could not be removed. In order to maintain the ceiling height and keep the installations intact, all installations and pipes were covered with a dark color so that in addition to creating dimension, it would be a suitable background for dynamic ceiling lighting.
Since the Fun Center is a place for playing and gaming, an astronaut concept was chosen for the interior design. To create such feeling, murals and related elements, dark colors were used in the bodies and ceiling to create dimension, as well as dynamic lights. To further instill the design concept, the ceiling lights were designed and implemented in the form of a suspended hexagonal network inspired by the hexagonal cloud of Saturn, and the ceiling and body lights can be coordinated so that the space is unified and the viewer won’t get tired.
Considering the differences in spatial uses, design and layout changes were made with great care so that in addition to diversity, environmental harmony was also observed.
